Claire Lebraz studied at the Paris School of Economics and considers herself a data geek, economist & computational thinker passionate about innovation, science & humans. Over the last 10 years in San Francisco, she has worked for marketplaces enabling people to make better use of their assets: their cars at Turo, and their homes at Airbnb. During her five years at Airbnb, she led the data science of the core product (site & app, from search to the real-life guest experience). She has 10+ years of experience in data engineering, advanced inference, and machine learning.
In September 2022 she moved back to Europe and joined the French company Malt a two-sided marketplace matching companies of all sizes with any category of freelancers and independent workers.
As VP of Data at Malt she will be in charge of:
- Bringing our search and matching algorithms to the frontier of what is best.
- Building a transparent and ethical approach to machine learning.
- Democratizing data and insights about freelancing within Malt and to our growing community.
Claire loves interacting with people and data and has a passion for effecting change and enabling decision-making. She is a curious engineer by training and thrives on working in diverse, cross-functional teams. Her main areas of focus in recent years: are experimentation, search, pricing, marketplace data, data quality, data democratization and governance, tooling, and processes for end-to-end data pipelines from data producers to data consumers within an organization.
